Join us as our Hong Kong-based Merchant Development Coordinator and help us provide a Japanese marketplace where our merchants can promote their products and help bridge that gap to direct consumers.
Be responsible for building and nurturing relationships with our merchants in Japan
You'll be responsible for building and nurturing relationships with our merchants in Japan, negotiating strategic campaigns, and providing essential business guidance. This position is perfect for someone with a genuine passion for wine who can drive growth and operational excellence. By building direct relationships with merchants and working in close collaboration with the Regional Director and the wider APAC team, this role is instrumental in unlocking a new phase of active growth.
Furthermore, your responsibilities can be grouped as follows:
- Relationship Management: You will be the main point of contact for our key merchant partners in Hong Kong. You'll build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships through regular contact and by providing essential business guidance
- Strategic Growth: You'll negotiate and secure strategic campaigns, including pricing and content for both core and non-core range products. You will also work closely with our Trading Managers to evaluate campaign performance and provide valuable feedback to our merchants
- Operational Excellence: You will oversee operational performance against agreed-upon SLAs, ensuring a smooth and efficient partnership. This includes handling escalations, both internal (coordinating with Customer Experience and Finance) and external (with merchants)
- Business Development: You'll identify new strategic merchants and provide hands-on support for their onboarding process, helping them to integrate and succeed on our platform quickly
- Performance Analysis: You will monitor and analyze merchant performance and satisfaction in your assigned markets, executing Quarterly Reviews to ensure our partners are meeting their goals

- Some years of experience in a sales or business development role
- Either a strong interest in wine and/or a willingness to learn more
- Proficient with Google Workspace
- Fluent in oral and written Japanese and English
